Facilities at the lake and beyond.

We currently have accommodation for our guests with up to 6 people sleeping in our fully fitted static home, which includes a separate toilet and a separate bathroom/shower facility. A comprehensively utensil filled, fully fitted kitchen with everything you will need including a gas hob, grill and oven, microwave, toaster, fridge and the important electric kettle. A spacious dining area with table and chairs and a large lounge space with 2 full size leather sofas and full English TV. This spacious well maintained accommodation also overlooks the front promenade area of the lake.

There is a smaller self-contained room outside of the home that also boasts another toilet, basin and shower area with a small kitchen sink and work top area with electric tea making facilities. In front of this room is the large garage area that makes excellent storage for all the extra gear you want to keep dry and undercover, there is an additional 6ft fridge freezer that runs on gas to provide you with extra chilling facility for those cold beers and snakes and a freezer area for storing that expensive bait.

On the promenade area in front of the lake there are several pick nick style tables that look over the water, there is additional garden chairs and gas BBQ available in the other wooden buildings.

There is sufficient parking for plenty of vehicles alongside the lake and facilities.

All electric is currently supplied via a full solar system with back up gas generators if for any reason you wear out the sun :). All sinks and showers are fully supplied with both hot and cold running water but due to the water being drawn from the area well, we do not advise drinking from the tap and recommend you to buy your drinking water from the local shops a couple of kilometres away. These shops also have a full stock of drink/food and alcohol provisions.

If you just fancy a ramble try walking in our back 11 acres, right behind the lake you will find this area which is largely overgrown but hosts a magnitude of wild life from Deer and pigs down to bees nests and other mysterious creatures, the bird life is amazing, but please wear stout boots and strong trousers because off path is quite treacherous.

If like us you fancy a break from the venue for a few hours there is a small city like town called Fougeres approximately 15-20 minutes away, there are many shops and supermarkets, try some of the smaller shops especially the Boulangerie (breads) or the Patisserie (cakes), you can get excellent meats for the BBQ from the Boucherie (butchers) and even sweeter cuts of cooked meats and Pate’s from the Charcutier (cooked meats), remember these names it will keep you in good stead.

In the centre of Fougeres is a small market area which is surrounded by some great bars and shops and even fast food joints that sell kebabs and burgers, but if you don’t like under cooked meat ask for your meat Bien Cuit (well done) as the French culture in towns like this is to serve their meats heavily on the rare side, you have been warned.

Another little visit while in Fougeres is the medieval Castle Chateau de Fougeres, its well worth a quick visit as it goes back to the 11th century. During the hotter months there is often re-enactments of medieval scenes etc, you can watch these while drinking many cold beers and eating some superb food.
