Malhere is 4.5 hours from Calais. 2.5hrs from Le Harve. 2hrs from Caen. 1 hr from St Malo.
Yes. Rennes Airport is only 35mins away from the Malhere in a car. It has several flights a day from Gatwick and Southend London airport arriving.
We have a handsome collection of 50 and 60lb carp with the largest currently (March 2019) just over 68lb, this is backed up with a large stock of 30s and upper 40s.
We allow up to 4 anglers with 3 rods to fish at any one time but the lake fishes better with less lines so 2 or 3 anglers is best.
Yes all our bookings for the main season is exclusive only. We have a caretaker at the venue but generally you only see him at the start and finish of your stay. The owners have a small Gite accommodation near to the lake corner and drive they are not often there but if they are they do not get involved with the anglers unless the anglers ask for any help and advice.
Due to the location of the venue there is no foot passers-by, all access is via car. If gates are locked then no one can approach the venue, the driveway to the lake from the gate is several hundred yards so pretty secluded at all times. There is a full alarm system active at the venue and High Definition surveillance cameras at various hidden access points.
After looking heavily at the stocking program By Mr Traylen we calculate about 120-140 carp within the banks of the lake. Over a dozen fish over 50lb with 4 of them over 60lb and soon one over 70lb. (at current growth rates)
Yes we encourage our customers to look around at the many wonderful places to visit as well as giving your baited spots a break works very well.
We ask that you leave the venue on the Saturday no later than 9.30 so the caretaker can prepare for next visitors, you can arrive any time after 2pm.
Yes we have both traditional coal BBQ and a gas BBQ, we enforce a self-cleaning regime after you have finished using or a cleaning charge may be levied.
Yes we have a full array of English channels available.
Yes we have a full solar system with backup generator, we are hopping the venue will be connected to the main frame in mid-2019.
Yes we have both feeding the home and garage shower units etc, we advise not to drink the cold water as it is drawn from the local well, although perfectly clear we feel bottled water is best consumed.
Malhere is a compact venue that sees a high level of angling pressure, we suggest to start off small with bags and traps and then increase your bait application as the fish respond, it can work against your catch rate if you pile in kilos of baits on spots right from the off, good angling techniques will show bigger rewards here than gross baiting from the off.
