Rules for Malhere

We uphold these rules vigorously, and expect you to respect our fish at all times, try and use all good fish care protocols at all times PLEASE!

Arrival time is NO EARLIER than 13.00pm on your Saturday of arrival and you must have left the venue by 10.00am on your Saturday of departure, this is to allow 3 hours cleaning and new customer preparation time.

Absolutely no artificial baits are allowed on the premises. No plastic particle or hook bait tippers. No foam for zig rigging, no plastic boilies or plastic hook baits, No imitation worms, maggots or other insects that can be used to create line aligners or boilie stops etc, the reason is simple, if you break off a rig for any reason the rig will sit in the water like a baited trap just waiting to be picked up again. Only bait items allowed on the rig that will breakdown eventually please.

Please use the unhooking mats and weighing stations provided, the value of these beautiful carp is irreplaceable so the carps comfort on land is your No1 priority, keep it soft and keep it wet please. DO NOT Stand for photos, please kneel with our mats under the fish, and keep it wet! Data fish microchips are now being used on many of our fish to allow them to live happily in their home environment, it gives us easy location, identification and prosecution.

No main line or hook link material under 15lb (7kg) is permitted in the lake.

No leadcore leaders, or shock leaders and absolutely No barbless hooks allowed on site.

Particle baits have to be prepared properly, 24hr soaking time is mandatory for any particle used on site. (SORRY NO NUTS) You must inform the management prior to your arrival if you intend to bring and use particle as we may ask to check it is soft and swollen correctly and contains NO chopped nuts etc. Well soaked particle is always allowed and welcome but sorry NO NUT baits although you may use prepared natural nuts as a hook baits.

No Braided mainline.

No carp sacks, recovery slings are provided and should be used, fish should not be kept in recovery slings for more than 30minutes. Absolutely NO CARP SACKS ON SITE.

Do not leave unattended rods while walking around the venue, using the house/caravan facilities is fine while fishing but one person must stay with baited rods at all times, do not leave baited rods in the water if you are not by them. Do not retire to the caravan to eat/shower or watch TV while your rods are left out baited this is highly irresponsible and a huge danger to our carps.

Bait boats are allowed and are preferred, please feel free to use bait boats on site at any time, in fact we would rather you dropped more than necessary bait under tight spots or open water from a bait boat than actually cast up the highly populated bank side trees and crack off. No rowing boats of any kind are allowed as you are not insured for that activity on Malhere. No one is permitted to enter the water for any reason. Life guard floatation rings are situated on every bank. Do not put yourself in danger to save another.

If you do happen to lose a rig within the lake you must inform and point this out to a caretaker when you leave on the Saturday and if possible roughly where you lost it so that we can attempt to remove it.

Do not damage any trees or vegetation or dig or mutilate any bankside areas.

No open fires or BBQs directly on the ground or grass areas please, a gas BBQ is provided but when used the cleaning is down to you, a charge will be made if not adhered too. NO PETROL OR DIESEL ON SITE PLEASE.

Please consume alcohol in a smart and sensible manner while on our premises. ABSOLUTELY NO DRUG USE ON THE GROUNDS OF MALHERE we have a nil tolerance towards this!

There is a good team of help and advice behind the Malhere brand but our intention is to let you use the great facilities and catch the stunning fish on your own terms and merit, we will try to leave you alone during your visit to enjoy all that is before you. Please enjoy our facilities and fish. Please leave nothing but footprints and take away nothing but memories. We hope your time at our Carp Garden is memorable for all YOUR right reasons and you return again and again.

Due to the new high level of scrutiny imposed on angling venues with public Liability Insurance we currently have an issue with under 16’s not being able to attend or use the facilities at Malhere. This will be addressed in the future but currently we have to operate a rule of NO Under 16s allowed, we are very sorry if this causes you some distress or tarnishes your visit.
